       Polarizing beam splitter can divide an incident light into two beams of linearly polarized light perpendicular to each other in the polarization direction, when the incident angle satisfies the Brewster angle condition, the reflectivity of the polarized light P is 0, at this time, the reflectivity of the polarized light s can be close to 1 by controlling the film layer, and the transmittance of the polarized light p is close to 1, but because the refractive index of the air is relatively small, it is not easy to reach the Brewster angle condition when the beam is incident from the air to the film, so the film must be sealed in the prism.

Compared to beamsplitters, the reflected and transmitted optical pathlengths of beamsplitters are equal. When transmitting light, the beamsplitter prism has no effect on light shift, so there are no problems such as beam translation, ghosting, and interference.
