CaF₂ Calcium Fluoride Double Convex Lenses have a positive focal length and are commonly used in imaging relay systems and for imaging objects with limited conjugate distances, and are most suitable for focusing divergent beams when the object is on either side of the lens and the conjugate ratio (i.e., the ratio of image distance to object distance) is between 0.2 and 5.
CaF₂ biconvex lenses are based on calcium fluoride, and the transmission spectral range of calcium fluoride is wide (180nm-8.0μm), with high damage threshold, low fluorescence and high homogeneity. Calcium fluoride has a low refractive index (1.35 to 1.51 in the applicable range), good chemical inertness, and has high hardness characteristics compared with similar materials such as barium fluoride and magnesium fluoride, and is often used in applications with high transmittance requirements in the infrared and ultraviolet spectral ranges.
