Calcium Fluoride Plano Concave Lenses have a negative focal length and are able to diverge a collimated beam, and to minimize spherical aberration, the curved surface of the lens should be oriented towards the light source. It can also compensate for spherical aberrations caused by other lenses in the optical system.
CaF₂ flat concave lenses are based on calcium fluoride, and the transmission spectral range of calcium fluoride is wide (180nm-8.0μm), with high damage threshold, low fluorescence and high homogeneity. Calcium fluoride has a low refractive index (1.35 to 1.51 in the applicable range), good chemical inertness, and has high hardness characteristics compared with similar materials such as barium fluoride and magnesium fluoride, and is often used in applications with high transmittance requirements in the infrared and ultraviolet spectral ranges.
