Zinc Selenide (ZnSe) Plano Concave Lenses have a negative focal length and are able to diverge a collimating beam, and to minimize spherical aberration, the curved surface of the lens should be oriented towards the light source. It can also compensate for spherical aberrations caused by other lenses in the optical system.
Znse flat concave lenses are based on zinc selenide, which has the characteristics of low absorption, thermal shock resistance, wide transmission band (600nm-16μm), and low absorption in the red light part of the visible spectrum, so it is often used in optical systems that combine CO2 lasers (operating at 10.6μm) with inexpensive helium-neon lasers.
