概述

  • Material: K9 glass

  • Use: Deflect the optical path by 90° or 180°

The Right Angle Prism is a refractive prism used for optical path adjustment, typically used to achieve 90° and 180° steering of the beam. Due to the principle of total internal reflection (TIR), when light enters from one right angle surface of a right angle prism, the light will be fully reflected at the glass/air interface of the inclined plane and exit from another right angle surface, which deflects the incident light by 90°. Therefore, it is suitable as a suitable alternative to mirrors. When the input light is incident from the inclined plane of the prism, the light will be fully reflected at the glass/air interface of the right angle plane, followed by a second total internal reflection as it passes through the next right plane, and finally exit from the inclined plane in the direction parallel to the incident beam, so that the incident light is deflected by 180°. As with the backward mirror, the 180° deflection generated by this optical path is independent of the angle of incidence.

K9 right-angle prism is based on RoHS-compliant K9 glass, which has excellent broad spectral transmission characteristics (high transmittance at wavelengths from 350nm to 2000nm) and high hardness, so it can withstand a variety of physical or chemical stimuli, so it is often used as a substrate for a variety of optical components.

Dimension-labs offers a wide range of K9 right-angle prisms (specific dimensions and parameters can be filtered from the details below) to meet the variety of applications you need.
