The Hollow Corner Reflecting Prism allows the incident beam to return in parallel without being affected by whether the angle of incidence is accurate or vertical. By combining three of these prisms at 90 degrees precisely, it is possible to avoid the effects of wavelength dispersion or glass absorption caused by the refractive index of the glass. Hollow reflectors made of hollow angle reflector prisms are rugged and insensitive to vibration, position, and movement, making them ideal for Michelson-type interferometers, FTIR spectrometers, and laser tracking systems.
The K9 hollow angle reflector prism is based on RoHS-compliant K9 glass, which has excellent broad spectral transmission characteristics (high transmittance at 350nm-2000nm wavelengths) and high hardness, so it can withstand a variety of physical or chemical stimuli, so it is often used as a substrate for a variety of optical components.
