The Off-Axis Parabolic Reflective Optical Fiber Collimator is based on a 90° off-axis parabolic reflector mirror. Unlike lenses, metal mirrors have a focal length that can remain constant over a wide wavelength range. Because of this inherent property, off-axis parabolic reflective fiber collimators do not require adjustment to collimate different wavelengths of light, making them ideal for use in multi-color light and are often used in systems that require collimation of multiple wavelengths, or infrared (or UV) collimation/coupling and coupling of multi-color light into large-core diameter multimode fibers.
