K9 Plano Concave Cylinder Lenses consist of a flat plane and a concave cylinder with a negative focal length that can change the aspect ratio of the image. Flat concave cylindrical lenses act similarly to flat concave spherical lenses and are suitable for shaping point light sources in one dimension, one of the typical applications is to use a single flat concave cylindrical lens to convert a collimated laser beam into a linear beam, but the cylindrical lens only works on one axis. To minimize spherical aberration, when diverging the beam, the concave surface of the lens should be directed towards the light source.
K9 flat concave cylindrical lenses are based on RoHS-compliant K9 glass, which has excellent broad spectral transmission characteristics (high transmittance at 350nm-2000nm wavelengths) and high hardness, so it can withstand a variety of physical or chemical stimuli, so it is often used as a substrate for a variety of optical components.
