Dual-wavelength waveplates are manufactured with a single piece of quartz crystal, which is a special kind of multistage waveplates, which can realize our desired phase delay at two wavelengths at the same time, and its phase delay is π/2 or π (i.e., one-quarter or two-quarter wave), which is widely used in solid-state frequency doubling lasers to improve conversion efficiency, and also used with other wavelength sensitive components to separate coaxial laser beams of different wavelengths.
