UV Fused Silica Plano Concave Lenses have a negative focal length and are able to diverge a collimating beam, so to minimize spherical aberration, the curved surface of the lens should be oriented towards the light source. It can also compensate for spherical aberrations caused by other lenses in the optical system.
UV flat concave lenses are based on UV fused silica, which is ideal for applications in the UV to near-infrared bands due to its high transmittance in the deep ultraviolet region and its very low fluorescence level compared to natural quartz, resulting in almost no laser-induced fluorescence. In addition, compared with K9 glass, it has a wider spectral range (185-2100nm), better homogeneity, and a lower coefficient of thermal expansion.
